MedWaves, the UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Roger Garcia i Noguera as the new Director of MedWaves, effective 9 February 2026.

This new chapter reinforces MedWaves’ continued commitment to supporting Mediterranean countries in their transition toward sustainable consumption and production. The Centre will keep advancing circular economy solutions and promoting just and inclusive transitions, working in close collaboration with UNEP/MAP, the Barcelona Convention system, and a wide network of local and international partners.

Mr. Garcia i Noguera brings strong leadership and continuity to the role, having previously served as Deputy Director of SCP/RAC. With in-depth knowledge of international regulatory frameworks, including the Barcelona Convention and the Stockholm Convention, he combines expertise in international law, business administration, and organizational management to guide the Centre’s mission forward.
