In the frame of the Interreg Med Programme (2014-2020), the Urban Transports horizontal project aims to pave the way towards sustainable mobility across the Mediterranean through replication of best practices, policy mainstreaming and knowledge exchange across the Mediterranean in 5 thematic fields: soft mobility, mobility in tourist destinations, use of big data for smart tra%ic management, shared mobility, new planning approaches and electro-mobility.

The Urban Transports focuses on capitalising the knowledge and expertise of the low-carbon mobility solutions developed, tested or implemented under the GO SUMP. The project will support the replication of these solutions through a mentoring programme in 2021, and will foster the exchange of knowledge among local and regional governments and public and private mobility-related operators through training initiatives.
The Urban Transports partnership will mainstream its results and findings at local, regional, national and European scale and will advocate for the reckoning of the unique features of mobility planning in the Mediterranean area, enhancing its peculiarities and commonalities as a key to implement low carbon strategies. The mutual assistance among municipalities and metropolitan areas will be key for the successful permeability of the capitalization products designed, paving the way towards sustainable urban transports across the Mediterranean.
